Dr. Tara Wegryn is a board certified Neurologist and Electrophysiologist whose current area of concentration is in Aesthetic Medicine.  She has extensive training in aesthetic medicine and is a member of the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine.

Since the introduction of Botox in the field of Neurology approximately twenty years ago for the treatment of uncontrollable blinking, and its subsequent use in aesthetic medicine, there have been enormous strides in the field of aesthetic medicine, including the introduction of substances and procedures that not only reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the uniformity of the skin surface, but also those that actually stimulate fibroblast activity and improve the body’s own production of collagen and rejuvenation of the deeper layers of the skin.

Dr. Wegryn received her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She then completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Oschner Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana before undertaking a 3 year residency in Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio followed by an electrophysiology fellowship. She was then hired as one of the first Neurologists at the newly opened Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she practiced until moving to Houston. After a holding a position in the University of Texas Neurology department for several years, she eventually left that position to start Houston Neuromonitoring, a highly successful intraoperative monitoring company which served the neurosurgical, orthopedic and cardiovascular communities at the Texas medical center and surrounding areas. She provided real time, state-of-the-art monitoring of the central and peripheral nervous systems during potentially dangerous operations. She worked with the surgeon and surgical team to anticipate impending paralysis, incontinence or deafness, and always working with the surgical team to help ensure the best possible outcomes. Not only was she the founder and owner of Houston Neuromonitoring, but she provided supervision to a team of intraoperative technologists, most of whom were personally trained by Dr. Wegryn who was the sole physician who oversaw their work.

Dr. Wegryn has gone on to serve on the board of an international healthcare company, The MacArthur Group. She is an invited member of Ignite, the top innovative female health care providers in Houston, and is a member in good standing in the IAPAM (International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine). She is delighted to be the director/owner of Refresh Medispa. She brings her years of dedication and experience into the practice to help you look fresh and feel confident.
